Kevin Woyjeck is from Seal Beach where he grew up in a Firefighting family, his father is a Captain with L.A. County FD. Kevin grew up wanting to be a firefighter as well and started the Explorer program as soon as he was old enough. He was a high achiever who showed great promise and managed to advance to the level in firefighting of a "Hotshot", the highly trained firefighters who are called in to fight the most difficult fires. Sadly, he, along with 18 brother firefighters perished in the Yarnell Hill fire near Prescott, AZ on Sunday, June 30.
